After finding out that her breast cancer had returned two weeks before getting married, she had to fight for her health and her marriage. She made it through the hardships with great friends, family and her wonderful husband. Through it all, she had a business to run. Haven her successful restaurant and bar in Midtown. That too was a struggle being that she is a woman in a man’s world. There are very few women who own restaurants in Manhattan and the number of African-American women you can count on one hand so through Bershan’s trials and tribulations has made her a warrior all around.
